New Timbers Billboard in Downtown

I hope the Front Office got the approval from the Timbers Army before running with this billboard. Definitely a piece of advertising aimed at the hardcore crowd that have probably already bought tickets. Most new ticket buyers won't understand this is related to the Timbers unless they have seen one of the No Pity scarves designed by the Army.

  1. i like it. it uses the word-of-mouth approach that has lead to the substantial increase in attendance for the last 5 years at PGE. it will get people talking who don't know what it is, and that's the point. The Timbers Army type fan is becoming the majority at the park, and I think the front office is just beginning to acknowledge that.

  2. i totally agree. word-of-mouth has been huge for the team. I always tell my buddies about the atmosphere in the north end, and all it takes is one visit and they are convinced. Whether you are a fan of soccer or not, you will probably become a follower after experiencing a game.
